As Emily Dickinson once said, “If I read a book…and feel physically like the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.” Similarly, the study of astrology has opened my perspective to a universe so vast, so sublime and so elegant, that I want to spend the rest of my life studying this field.  Sometimes daily life can become so trivialized, mechanized and institutionalized, we lose sight of the great beauty and mystery of it all.  

My passion for astrology not only opened up my mind, but it has opened up my classroom walls as well.   I have taken my teaching outside of the schoolroom to share what I have learned as a consciousness teacher. As an astrologer, intuitive guide and healer, I enjoy working with people of all ages. Together, we can uncover the deeper narratives between soul and star that are in your natal chart. My role is as a lantern-bearer who shines the light of awareness on your horoscope.

For over 25 years, I have found joy in teaching literature and writing to children of all ages.  Throughout the years, I have been inspired by the insights and observations of countless students in the reading and writing workshop.   So often I have witnessed a deep wisdom rise up when a child connects with a great story, and, most especially, when a child writes his/her own story or poem or essay.  A great power rises up when we understand or uncover a narrative that speaks a truth about our individual and collective human experience.   

A decade ago, I became increasingly concerned about the attempt to eradicate creativity, wonder and imagination in the public-school system. This concern became the impetus of my mission. I wanted to learn more about the individual and collective stories of human consciousness. I wanted to learn more about the motifs, symbols and profound themes that had arisen in the writing of my young students. For when the muse touched them, my student’s writings had taken my breath away. Sometimes there was even what I would call something “spiritual” about their stories and poems. The essences of their narratives rose from such a deep place --and even --and sometimes especially—in the writings of the youngest children. My experiences with my students prompted me to seek a deeper understanding about the connection between psyche and storytelling. Although, in our popular culture, the word “divine” has become somewhat anachronistic, yet in truth, I had witnessed a glimpse of the “divine,”—something sacred that I recognized and honored--- in my student’s voices and stories. Therefore, it surely is no coincidence that as a writing teacher, I found myself on a metaphysical path. Eventually, I found an awakening and hence a new passion in the field of astrology.   

This session is a personal orientation to your astrological birth chart.  Many people know their sun sign and some also know their moon and even rising sign.  While these luminaries are important parts of the story, it is the whole of the natal chart that tells the deeper story of our soul’s journey. An exciting landscape of insight and possibilities opens up when a person learns his/her natal chart.

In this reading we examine how the current movement of the planets is playing out in your horoscope/chart. We will look at the themes that arise from transiting planets according to house, sign and aspect.  Learn the potentialities that are ignited in your life through the synergy of astrological activity.  During a transit reading, people are often amazed when they connect how their current experience is reflected in their transits. Knowing your transits not only provides insight, it helps you strategize your best course of action. 

 You and your significant other can develop a deeper understanding of each other through navigating each other’s birth charts.  This reading will help you dive into a deeper level of intimacy and understanding of the soul you love.  Such a fun gift to give a relationship!  

As parents we always try to do what is best for our children, but sometimes what we think is “best” does not work for them. We find ourselves confused.  For example, one parent told me when she was a child, she was always seeking stimulation for her imagination. She loved listening to her parents recite poems and read me fairy tales. However, when she wanted to cuddle up with her daughter and read “Harry Potter,” her daughter said she did not like magical stories. She told her mother that she thinks magical stories are stupid because those stories aren’t real. This parent was confused and even hurt by her daughter’s rejection until she learned more about the role that realism and logic play in her daughter’s chart. This parent learned how she could better speak her daughter’s language and also how she could help her daughter stretch in the area of imagination using what appealed to her daughter---mathematical problem solving and scientific thought experiments.

This reading is to orient you to your child’s natal chart. This will help you gain insight so that you can better “speak” his/her language and nourish his/her heart and soul.

While people can certainly become conscious of the parts of themselves that motivate their decisions and behaviors without astrology, knowing one’s personal astrological signatures, so to speak, can be an incredible empowering way to lead a more conscious life.  

When reading a natal chart, I become acquainted with the various archetypal “actors” that play different roles in the individual’s “psychic theater.”  Learning how the archetypes present as inner characters/actors is the exciting work for the astrologer and client.  Bringing these actors into the light of consciousness is a very powerful experience for the client.  It empowers one to find luminous fields of potentiality. As Caroline Casey says, knowing the gods within can help us to consciously direct them to work for us.  

“It behooves all of us to become familiar with the archetype that seeks expression through us, to learn how to honor it and what happens when we do not.” (Making the Gods Work for You, p. 21). 

My practice takes an experiential approach to astrology to help my clients become masters of their own astrological chart.  Instead of just reading a chart to a client, I employ methods of journaling, sketching and theater to shine a light on the different archetypal energies that are “speaking” in the narrative of the chart.
